Dáil Éireann - Volume 671 - 17 December, 2008

Written Answers. - Garda Strength.

[290] Deputy Dan Neville asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of Garda reservists who have been appointed to Garda stations in County Limerick. [46788/08]

Deputy Dermot Ahern: There are currently 11 attested Garda Reserve members attached to Limerick Garda Division. At present all the Reserve members in the Limerick Division are attached to Henry Street Garda station. A further 6 people are in training and will be assigned as Reserve Gardaí to the Limerick Division upon completion of their training. Recruitment for the Garda Reserve is ongoing and I would welcome the prospect of further assignments of Garda Reserve members to the Limerick Division as additional Reserve members from the area become available.
