Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if she will investigate the reason the Health Service Executive did not respond to a parliamentary question previously placed (details supplied). [23074/08]

  Deputy Mary Harney: My Department understands that a reply has issued, from the Health Service Executive, to the Deputy in this matter.

Deputy Michael Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [23075/08]

  Deputy Mary Harney: Operational responsibility for the management and delivery of health and personal social services is a matter for the Health Service Executive and funding for all health services has been provided as part of its overall Vote. Therefore, the Executive is the appropriate body to consider the particular case raised by the Deputy. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.

Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health and Children if there is a 12 month waiting list for children with speech and language difficulties to receive a hearing test; the reason for such a delay; her plans to address same; and if she will make a statement on the matter.   Deputy Mary Harney: The Deputy’s question relates to the funding, management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
