Mr. J. O’Keeffe Mr. J. O’Keeffe
Mr. J. O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the action he will take to deal with the issues raised by certain State solicitors; the measures he will put in place to ensure that accused persons will face trial and that criminals are not set free unnecessarily; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Mr. McDowell Mr. McDowell
Mr. McDowell: I presume the Deputy’s question relates to a recent article on the remuneration of State solicitors. I wish to inform the Deputy that I have no function in relation to remuneration of State solicitors. The Chief State Solicitor’s office is a constituent element of the Office of the Attorney General.
