Dáil Éireann - Volume 602 - 12 May, 2005

Business of Dáil.

Mr. Cassidy:I wish to draw to the attention of the House that I understood earlier today that I had voted on Second Stage of the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2005. However, it has since been brought to my attention that one of my votes has not been recorded. I wish to put on record that it was my full intention to vote in both divisions. I thank the Ceann Comhairle for allowing me to bring this matter to his attention.

Ms Shortall:Is the Deputy happy with the revision?

An Ceann Comhairle:While Deputy Cassidy has made the point and it has been put on the record of the House, I wish to make it clear that this cannot become a precedent. Members dissatisfied with the electronic recording or not recording of votes, as the case may be, must raise the matter at the time of the vote.
