Written Answers - Medical Cards.

[182]   134. Mr. McGuinness asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if an application for a medical card in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be expedited in view of their medical condition and the report submitted by the person’s general practitioner. [32959/04]

Ms Harney: Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
