148. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the degree to which sufficient patrol cars are available to meet requirements in the constituency of Dublin north west; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2634/04]

Mr. McDowell:I have been informed by the Garda authorities which are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources that Garda management is satisfied that there are sufficient patrol cars supplied to both Dublin metropolitan region, north and Dublin metropolitan region, west. There are 159 vehicles of various types, including motorcycles, currently allocated to these two DMR divisions.
