  271. Ms Enright asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the position relating to the payment of the urban and village renewal scheme grant to Offaly County Council; if the full amount of this grant will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17950/03]

  Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Mr. Cullen): A claim for €55,000 received from Offaly County Council on 18 December 2002 in respect of works carried out under the urban and village renewal programme was too late for payment in 2002. A further claim for €63,000 was received from the council in March 2003. Information requested to facilitate payment of these claims is still outstanding. The 2003 grant allocation to Offaly County Council is €281,000.

  272. Ms Enright asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if progress has been made in arranging a meeting between Offaly County Council and himself in relation to the disabled persons grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17951/03]

  Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Mr. Cullen): A capital allocation of €482,000 for the payment of disabled person's and essential repairs grants was made to Offaly County Council on 5 June last. My officials will be in touch with the council within the next few days with a view to arranging the meeting sought by the council in relation to the disabled persons grants scheme.
