Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will detail, from the time of the present Dáil, the financial penalties imposed on the Government resulting from the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives; and the legal proceedings that are now [726] pending by the EU as a result of the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives. Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation (Dr. McDaid): From the time of the present Dáil, there were no financial penalties imposed on the Government resulting from the failure of my Department to comply with EU directives; and there are no legal proceedings pending by the EU as a result of the failure of my Department to comply with EU directives.
