Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department has received the review of Garda clearance arrangements in the child care area from the Garda Commissioner; if so, the main recommendations of the review; if he will publish the review; and the steps, if any, he is taking to deal with this matter. Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue): The Garda authorities have completed their review of this matter and their report is currently with the Garda Commissioner for consideration of the operational procedures and resource requirements necessary to support the clearance system in the area in question.

I expect to hear from the commissioner in the near future when he has completed his consideration of these matters.
