543. Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has satisfied himself with progress in PULSE; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8274/99]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue): I am informed by the Garda authorities that the PULSE project is progressing satisfactorily. A very significant element of it will be introduced by the end of this year, replacing the existing mainframe systems, and the project as a whole is on schedule.
