Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that Offaly County Council honours its commitments under an agreement drawn up on 4 June 1997 between the council, the Irish Peatland Conservation Council and his Department under the provisions of the Environmental Partnership Fund in the framework of the environmental partnership award scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Wallace): Under the Environmental Partnership Fund 1997, a grant of £2,750 was allocated to Offaly County Council to assist two projects in Offaly. This included a sum of £1,750 towards the cost of a guide to wetland conservation prepared by the Irish Peatland Conservation Council; this portion of the funding was released by the county council to the Irish Peatland Conservation Council on 14 April last.
