113. Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will outline the routing options, if any, identified for the Luas line to Ballymun; the progress of the feasibility study; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4581/98]

Minister for Public Enterprise (Mrs. O'Rourke): The CIE light rail project team is working on the identification of strategic routes to serve Ballymun and has made considerable progress. However, any of these routes could be affected by the outcome of the study examining the option of underground light rail in the city centre. Consequently, the light rail project team's efforts are being concentrated to the north of the inner city pending completion of the underground study.
