296. Ms Clune asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when his Department will provide funding for a long awaited public library in Bishopstown, County Cork. [21025/97]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): Sketch design and cost plan proposals for a branch library in Bishopstown have been received in my Department and are being considered. However, having regard to the high level of demand for funding for library proposals generally, it is not possible to indicate when the proposals may be approved.
