144. Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in having construction work commenced on the proposed extension to Kilmuckridge national primary school, County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15793/97]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): The Deputy will be pleased to know that construction commenced on 29 September. The project was subject to a delay because of the need of the contractor to attend to other contractual obligations.

145. Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position in relation to the provision of a sports hall at Pobalscoil Iosolde, Palmerstown, Dublin 20; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15794/97]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): My Department has recently been in contact with the authorities of Pobalscoil Iosolde regarding the provision of a PE hall at the school. When the school responds, the matter will be progressed further.

146. Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science the current progress, if any, towards the provision of the regional technical college at Blanchardstown, Dublin 15; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15795/97]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. Martin): The high level planning group established under the auspices of the Higher Education Authority is continuing with the preparation of a strategic plan for the new institution. Also, detailed consultations are ongoing between officials of the IDA, Fingal Council and the planning and building unit of the Department of Education with regard to the new 45 acre site for the college which forms part of the proposed Buzzardstown IDA-Fingal Council Scientific, Industrial and Business Park.
