Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education whether the local contribution level for a new school (details supplied) in County Mayo can be reduced from 15 per cent to 5 per cent in view of the fact that the school has a concentration of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds and the building project is urgent. Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for Education if she will reduce the local contribution from 15 per cent to 5 per cent in respect of Rathbane national school, County Mayo, in view of the disadvantaged status of the school and the catchment area, in order to allow the contract documents to be signed within the next two weeks. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): An application in respect of the local contribution was received in my Department from the school on 10 December. The matter is currently under consideration and, when a decision is reached, it will be conveyed to the school management.
