Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether Cork Airport has a new aviation category status following the provision of radar equipment and advanced runway lighting; if so, the way in which this status compares with Dublin and Shannon Airports; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Authority, under section 14 (1) (h) (v) of the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993 — No. 29 of 1993 — is responsible for regulating the operation and management of aerodromes.
