99. Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment under the REPS scheme will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [2096/96]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Mr. Yates): An application under REPS was received by my Department from the person concerned. Part of the lands in question are in a proposed Natural Heritage Area (NHA). One of the conditions of REPS is that an applicant who has lands in a proposed NHA must sign an undertaking to comply with the requirements set out by the Department of the Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht concerning NHA sites. The applicant in question has refused to sign this undertaking and, therefore, the application cannot be processed.
