Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the present position regarding the application for naturalisation of a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1132/95] Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen) Nora Owen Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen): The documentation supplied by the applicant in support of his application indicates that he has not fulfilled the statutory requirement in regard to residence in the State prior to applying for naturalisation. Until such time as he does his application cannot be processed. The information was conveyed to the applicant in November 1994. [1133/95] Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen) Nora Owen Minister for Justice (Mrs. Owen): The situation with this person's application for a certificate of naturalisation has not altered since my predecessor wrote to the Deputy on the matter in July 1994. It was indicated to the Deputy at that time that, if the applicant reactivated his application in 12 months from the date, his application would be reconsidered. I intend to honour that commitment.
