158. Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of the proposed State scheme for support of multi-denominational schools and Gaelscoileanna; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [2747/95]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach): The Government of Renewal policy agreement, which has been agreed by the parties in Government, lists as an education priority:—

Support for multi-denominational schools and gaelscoileanna including the early recognition of new schools.

I and my Department are at present considering the range of issues involved in realising this policy objective. As part of this process, I have already met Gaelscoileanna, the support group for allIrish schools, and it is my intention to meet also with Educate Together, the support group for multi-denominational schools.
