74. Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance when a VAT refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Minister for Finance (Mr. B. Ahern): I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a claim for July-August [97] 1990 was repaid by offset against VAT due for outstanding periods.

A balance of the refund is withheld pending a reply by the taxpayer to queries raised in September 1991 by the Inspector of Taxes.
