Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if he proposes to introduce legislation or regulations to control the activities of driving schools and driving instructors. Minister for the Environment (Mr. Smith) Michael Smith Minister for the Environment (Mr. Smith): I do not propose to regulate the activities of driving schools and driving instructors on a statutory basis. However, my Department have invited the relevant associations to formulate a voluntary registration scheme for driving instructors, in association with the Insurance Federation of Ireland.
