Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the total amount of funds available for disbursement by the Government from the proceeds of the national lottery for each year since its inception; whether he intends to extend the areas or groups who might benefit from the proceeds in the current year; if he proposes any other changes in the operation of grant awards from the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The final figures for 1991 are not yet available, however, the audited accounts will be laid before the House shortly. I have no plans at present to extend the number of areas which may benefit from the proceeds of the national lottery. The various grants schemes funded from the national lottery are operated in the first instance by the spending Departments concerned.
