Written Answers. - EC Environment Agency.

156. Mr. J. Bruton, Mr. J. Mitchell, Miss Flaherty, Mr. Connor and Mr. Carey asked the Minister for the Environment if he will press to have the establishment of the proposed EC Environment Agency separated from other EC siting decisions so as to get the agency into early operation.

Minister for the Environment (Dr. O'Hanlon): I support the strong view of the EC Environment Council on the need for early agreement on the site for the European Environment Agency, so as to implement the regulation establishing the agency which was adopted during the Irish Presidency.
