Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowance Certificate.

75. Mr. D'Arcy asked the Minister for Finance the position regarding the issue of a tax-free allowance certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Minister for Finance (Mr. A. Reynolds): I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the area in the tax office dealing with the taxpayer's affairs is the subject of industrial action due to the non-replacement of a member of staff. Efforts are being made to resolve the matter and a certificate of tax-free [1058] allowances will then be issued to the taxpayer as soon as possible.
