Written Answers. - Archaeological Excavations.

33. Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange to have all statutory reports lodged with the Office of Public Works in respect of licensed archaeological excavations placed in the National Library, so that the public may examine them.

Minister for Finance (Mr. A. Reynolds): Access is available, by application to the Office of Public Works, to unpublished reports on licensed archaeological excavations which have been lodged there. In the circumstances I do not consider that it is either necessary or appropriate that unpublished reports be placed in the National Library.

Published reports on licensed archaeological excavations must be placed in the National Library where they may be examined by the public.
