381. Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if she has any plans to develop the structures of local voluntary youth councils; and when she intends to publish guidelines for the establishment and running of voluntary youth councils.

Minister for Education (Mrs. O'Rourke): On-going discussions are taking place with representatives of youth organisations and the Irish Vocational Education Association regarding the development of suitable structures for local voluntary youth councils. It is expected that guidelines for the operation of these councils will be issued shortly.
