Mr. Abbott asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give details of the submissions made to his Department from County Westmeath for disadvantaged areas with reference to the individual applications made; the persons by whom the applications were made; and the district electoral divisions to which the various applications apply.

Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. O'Kennedy): Submissions made to my Department for classification/reclassification of areas include one for the entire County of Westmeath but in accordance with normal procedure relating to confidentiality, I do not propose to name the persons or bodies submitting requests for such surveys.
