Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if the Garda at Harcourt Square, Dublin 2, were requested to prepare a report on security at the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin 4, by the director of the library; if a report was prepared; the reason the report was not forwarded to the director; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Collins): It would be contrary to established practice to disclose details of steps taken by the Garda to improve security at a location such as that referred to in this question.
