24. Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Energy the origin of the young trees used [452] for planting by his Department in the 1988 programme.

Minister for Energy (Mr. R. Burke): In the course of the 1988 planting season my Department supplied 30.5 million plants to the State planting programme. Of that total 24.9 million came from my Department's own nurseries. The balance of the plants were purchased from private commercial nurseries in this country and abroad.
