37. Mr. Gibbons asked the Minister for Energy if the Forestry and Wildlife Service nursery units have the capacity [2891] to supply sufficient plants to sustain the increased targets for State and private afforestation programmes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Energy (Mr. R. Burke): I am satisfied that my Department's nurseries have the capacity to supply sufficient plants to sustain the targets for the state afforestation programme. I am also satisfied that adequate supplies of plants will be available from the private nursery trade to meet the planting requirements of the private forestry sector.
