218. Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education if he has received a request from the Art Teachers' Association for an inquiry into art teacher training; and the action he proposes to take on the various serious concerns of this association.

Minister for Education (Mr. Cooney): A letter from the President of the Art Teachers' Association was received in my Department on 1 December. In view of the comprehensive nature of the letter I am not in a position at this stage to say more than that all the issues raised in it will be fully investigated. A reply will issue as soon as the investigations are complete.
