Dáil Éireann - Volume 363 - 05 February, 1986

Written Answers. - Benefit to Schemes.

62. Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for Agriculture the extra schemes which will benefit from J3 Food and Agriculture Organisation, contributions due to the increase from £61,000 in 1985 to £135,000 in 1986.

Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Deasy): The provision in subhead J3 is in respect [1726] of the financing of associate professional officers employed in developing countries by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation).

The amount of £61,000 is the actual expenditure in 1985 which was lower than expected due to delay in the recruitment of officers. The 1986 provision of £135,000 is to cover the cost of the normal full complement of three officers employed under the scheme.
