Dáil Éireann - Volume 363 - 22 January, 1986 Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits. Mr. Doherty Mr. Doherty 285. Mr. Doherty asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon will be given a decision on his appeal against the disallowance of his unemployment assistance, as he is awaiting a decision for six months. Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. B. Desmond) Barry Desmond Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. B. Desmond): The unemployment assistance claim of the person concerned was disallowed on the grounds that his means, derived from the profit from his holding exceeded the statutory limit. He appealed against the disallowance and arising from contentions made by him in support of his appeal the papers were returned to the social welfare officer for further inquiries. It has now come to light that the papers were, unfortunately, mislaid in postal transit and arrangements have been made for the completion of duplicate papers. Inquiries in this case will be completed with the minimum of delay and the case will then be referred to an appeals officer for determination at the earliest available opportunity. The delay in this case is regretted. Dáil Éireann 363 Written Answers. Social Welfare Benefits. Questions 19860122
