258. Mr. O'Kennedy asked the Minister for Finance the change in revenue in 1985 that would result from reducing [667] excise duty on beer by (a) 2p and (b) 5p; and the changes in the volume of sales within the State he is assuming in his reply.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Dukes): The changes in revenue from beer sales in 1985 and in the volume of sales within the State from reductions in tax on beer are estimated as follows:
