197. Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in dealing with a new house grant application from a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and when the house inspection will be carried out.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): There has been no delay in dealing with the application. An inspection has been carried out and a grant cannot be paid in this case as the floor area of the house is in excess of the statutory limit of 125m² (1,346 sq. ft.).

198. Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons a mortgage subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which it will be paid; and the amount that will be paid.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): The first two instalments of the mortgage subsidy have been paid in this case. The third instalment of £500 in respect of the period ending 7 May 1984 will be paid after that date provided the applicant submits the appropriate claim form duly certified by his lending agency.

199. Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant [1221] and a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Kavanagh): The grant will be paid shortly. Arrangements will be made for payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy when the person named submits to my Department a completed and certified document S.L.4 — Certificate of the Inspector of Taxes — in respect of himself and spouse.
