Written Answers. - Cardinal Mannix Commemorative Stamp.

336. Mr. Meaney asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider having a commemorative stamp issued in honour of Dr. Daniel Mannix who was well-known internationally for his support for Ireland's cause especially in Australia, and who was born on 4 March 1864.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. Wilson): A stamp on the subject of Dr. Daniel Mannix (1864-1963) is not planned at present. In general, stamps in honour of persons are issued only on the centenary year of their birth or death.
