272. Mr. MacSharry asked the Minister for Finance the steps that have been taken to locate part of the Department of Social Welfare in Sligo.

Minister for Finance (Mr. Bruton): This project for the Department of Social Welfare was included in Government plans for the decentralisation of Government offices. These plans are being reviewed as part of the general review of expenditure programmes which the Government put in hands on assuming office. I expect that the review will be completed shortly.
