8. Mr. Meaney asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if, in view of the recent increase in unemployment in the Charleville area, County Cork, he will arrange with the IDA to have a cluster of factories or a heavy industry sited there in addition to the present development.

Mr. M. O'Leary: The Industrial Development Authority has arranged for the construction of a 10,000 sq. ft. advance factory in Charleville, County [14] Cork which is due to be completed by mid 1982. In addition, the IDA owns a further eight acres of land in Charleville which is being vigorously promoted for suitable industrial development. Everything possible is being done to attract industry to Charleville.
