Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

652. Mr Keegan asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department will release contract documents which [2194] were submitted by Westmeath County Council for an independent water supply for the Mullingar area, County Westmeath.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. P. Barry): A revised interim report for the Mullingar Independent Town Scheme was approved on 5 June 1980. Contract documents for the scheme have not been submitted by Westmeath County Council.

653. Mr. Keegan asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department will sanction the tender for the construction of the water tower at Gaybrook, Mullingar, County Westmeath.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. P. Barry): I cannot, as yet, indicate when I will be in a position to approve acceptance of the tender for the construction of the water tower at Gaybrook, Mullingar, which is under consideration in my Department.

654. Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a recent communication from Galway County Council regarding the delay in approving a successful tender for the proposed Athenry sewerage scheme, County-Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for the Environment (Mr. P. Barry): My Department have not received a communication from Galway County Council on the lines referred to by the Deputy and I therefore have no statement to make in the matter.
