144. Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education the amount of moneys made available either in the form of a grant-in-aid or by any other way in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1981 to the following organisations; Comhcairdeas; VSI; and Building Companions.

Minister for Education (Mr. Wilson): The information in respect of the years 1977, 1978, 1979, and 1980 is given in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

Youth Services Grants for 1981 have not yet been decided.

Grants to Comhchairdeas, Voluntary Service International and Irish Building Companions in respect of the years 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980

Voluntary Service International and Irish Building Companions were allocated grants to employ a full-time worker under the Department of Education Development Officer Scheme.

These two organisations were paid grants of £5,000 each towards the employment of these officers in 1980.
