262. Mr. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in the completion of the extension to Enfield national school, County Meath, which was to be completed in June 1980; the action he has taken in the matter; and when he now expects the extension will be completed.

Minister for Finance (Mr. G. Fitzgerald): The original date for completion of the contract for an extension to Enfield national school was 31 July 1980. An additional classroom was provided as a variation on the contract and it was necessary to extend the period for completion. The Commissioners of Public Works are pressing the contractor to have all outstanding work completed at the earliest possible date.
