402. Mr. Gilhawley asked the Minister for Agriculture the present position regarding the acquisition of the Kenny estate at Carrowregh-Cooper, Tubbercurry, County Sligo; and the reason for the long delay in dealing with this case.

[307] Minister for Agriculture (Mr. MacSharry): Proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the property in question were adjourned pending determination by the Supreme Court of a legal issue in a similar case. The Supreme Court has now given its judgment and proceedings are expected to be resumed shortly.
