[641] 3. Dr. Browne asked the Minister for Fisheries if Rossaveal Quay, County Galway has been designated the principal fishing port for the west of Ireland.

Mr. Lenihan: I am examining proposals to declare Rossaveal a major fishery harbour for the west of Ireland. I hope to be in a position to make a statement in the matter shortly.

Dr. Browne: By “shortly” has the Minister in mind weeks or months?

Mr. Lenihan: It will be within a matter of very few months.

Dr. Browne: By mid-summer, perhaps?

Mr. Lenihan: Yes.
