34. Mr. Moore asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the approximate date that the landing of natural gas from this country's Continental Shelf is expected.

Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. Keating): The formal contact date for landing the Kinsale Head natural gas is 1st April, 1979. The two parties mainly concerned, Marathon Petroelum Ireland Ltd. and the Gas Board, have however, agreed to set a target date for delivery of gas more than a year earlier than the contract date. At present, planning is aimed at having delivery of some gas commencing before the end of next year. I should say that this constitutes a very tight schedule but, as of this date, arrangements are on target.
