22. Mr. McEllistrim asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the Listowel telephone exchange will become automatic.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Dr. Cruise-O'Brien): It is expected that Listowel exchange will be converted to automatic working towards the end of next year.

23. Mr. McEllistrim asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if Ballylongford parish and village, County Kerry is included in the change to an automatic system along with the Listowel Exchange.

Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (Dr. Cruise-O'Brien): Not in the current conversion scheme. A site has been acquired for an automatic exchange building but a reliable estimate cannot be given at present as to when conversion will be completed.
