51. Mr. Lemass asked the Minister for Local Government the steps he has taken to ensure that pollution control is properly supported by scientific, technical and economic knowledge.

Mr. Tully: The Department have specialist staff to give advice and so have other Departments concerned. Full use is made of specialist Irish research bodies such as An Foras Forbartha and of international research through various bodies, including the EEC.
