Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Schemes.

3. Mr. Fahey asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the serious unemployment situation in Waterford, he will immediately sanction the following works: the main drainage and sewerage, Waterford city, and the main road through Ferrybank.

Mr. Tully: I intend to give my decision on Waterford Corporation's proposals for the main drainage scheme as soon as practicable. I received a deputation from Waterford on 22 May and am sympathetic to the case made.

Responsibility for the preparation of the proposed road scheme at Ferrybank rests with Waterford Corporation and I await their proposals in the matter.
