Mr. Wilson asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the new secondary school to replace the existing Salerno school in Salthill, Galway. Mr. R. Burke Mr. R. Burke Mr. R. Burke: I have arranged for a senior official of my Department to visit Galway in the near future to discuss the question of the required accommodation in the Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Salerno, Salthill, Galway, with the authorities concerned. He will also be in touch with representatives of the Salthill Parish Council in connection with arrangements for discussions with the local interests involved. Mr. Power Mr. Power Mr. Power: Will the Minister say if it is intended to provide a new school immediately or is there the possibility that prefabricated buildings might be provided as a short-term policy? Mr. R. Burke Mr. R. Burke Mr. R. Burke: I have no indication there is any necessity for prefabricated buildings. The whole question of accommodation in this instance will have to be taken in the context of the overall provision of secondary education in the Salthill area. I have already answered rather extensively questions from Deputy Molloy in regard to this matter. Dáil Éireann 279 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Galway School. Questions 19750306
