25. Mr. Lalor asked the Minister for Education the outcome of the representations made to him on 23rd October, 1974, regarding the payment of a grant for the education of a person in County Laois (name supplied) who is a student in the National College of Physical Education.

Mr. R. Burke: The person in question did not qualify for a grant under this Department's scheme of grants to enable students to follow courses of physical education. The scheme specifies a minimum qualifying standard in the leaving certificate examination in the year of entry to the college. The person in question did not reach this standard and it is not possible to award him a grant.
