141. Mr. Moore asked the Minister for Transport and Power when the post of general manager of Dublin Port and Docks Board is likely to be filled.

Mr. Keating Mr. Keating

Mr. Keating: The delay in filling the post of general manager of the Dublin Port and Docks Board arises because of the necessity to reconcile the remuneration proposed by the board and that recommended by the review body on higher remuneration in the public sector and accepted by the Government. I am in consultation with the Minister for the Public Service and the board and I am hopeful that the matter will soon be resolved and the post advertised.
